Rachel LANG (1984, France) combined her studies in philosophy with the dramatic arts in Strasbourg, and entered the IAD film school in Belgium. Her graduation short film Pour toi je ferai bataille/I Will Fight For You (2010) and Les navets blancs empêchent de dormir/White Turnips Make It Hard To Sleep (2011) won 10 awards. Lang went on to direct Baden Baden (2016), which marks the end of the trilogy. This debut feature started its international career at the 2016 Berlinale (Forum). Having long been engaged in the operational reserve of the French land forces, Lang served in the Sahel Desert in the spring of 2017, during Operation Barkhane. The following year, she was the 2018 Lauréate de la Fondation Gan pour le Cinéma. Mon Légionnaire/Our Men (2021) is her second feature.
