Peter MONSAERT (1975, Belgium) grew up in Ghent and started his career with video installations and theatre productions. Flemish Heaven (2016) is his second feature film after Offline (2012). Monsaert once said in an interview that the most vulnerable, frightening and also most interesting thing about film is the fact that the editing can save everything. Or ruin it.

Le Ciel Flamand
In the flat Flemish landscape, along a long straight road, is the brothel Le Ciel Flamand, run by Sylvie and her mother. Sylvie’s six-year-old daughter is fascinated by what goes on inside, but is forbidden to enter. One day something terrible happens. In this complex context, Monsaert paints a gripping and layered portrait.
