Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson (New Zealand) was born in 1961, on Halloween. His work has been influenced by television series such as Thunderbirdsand Monty Python's Flying Circus and by King Kong and the films of Buster Keaton. He has been making films since the age of eight and his first 'major' feature, Bad Taste (1988), started as a short, after which he received a grant from the New Zealand Film Commission to complete it as a feature. Bad Taste was premièred in 1988 in Cannes and has been a cult classic ever since.
