Penny Woolcock

Penny WOOLCOCK (1950, Buenos Aires) grew up in Montevideo, Uruguay in the local conservative British community. As a member of a theatre company, she soon found herself on the wrong side of the military regime. In her colourful life, she has been a factory worker and painter before finding her way into the television and film world. She has already received widespread praise with her TV films made for Channel 4. She has made documentaries, dramas and feature films, and won awards in each genre.
