Pedro GONZÁLEZ-RUBIO (b. 1976, Belgium) has Mexican parents and lived for some years in India during his teens. He studied media in Mexico City before attending the London Film School. He was the cameraman for several films, including Born Without (2007, Eva Norvind). Toro negro (2005) was his documentary debut. To the Sea (2009) won a Tiger Award in Rotterdam. Inori (2012) won the Golden Leopard Award in the Filmmakers of the Present competition at the Locarno Film Festival.

Unusual film in an unusual location: the Mexican coral reef Banco Chinchorro, where grandfather, father and five-year-old son spend their days fishing for crabs and snappers. In a surging rhythm, Alamar shows that nature does not always form a stark contrast to cultivated humans.

Intimate and fascinating portrait of Fernando, also known as El Suicida and El Negro, a bull fighter in the slums of the Mexican Yucutan Peninsular. Sometimes he is a charming host to the film makers, often he is known blind drunk and aggressive towards his wife. He isn't old but he's already covered in psychological and physical scars.
