Pablo Lamar
Pablo LAMAR was born in Asunción (Paraguay) in 1984. He studied film at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
He has written and directed the short films Ahendu Nde Sapukai (2008) and Noche Adentro (2009), both of which premiered at the Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival, and received awards worldwide.
La última tierra, his first feature film, premiered at IFFR 2016, where it received the Hivos Tiger Jury Award for artistic achievement. It also received the Best Film award the Sao Paulo Latin-American Film Festival 2016 and the Prix Découverte in the Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse 2016. The Habana Film Festival also awarded the Artistic contribution to La última Tierra.
He also works as a sound designer for film, having collaborated with several Latin American directors, having received several awards for this category.
In theatre, he has directed the pieces Cine Splendid (2017) and Conto Anonimo (2018), both in collaboration with Sara Pinheiro, co-writer of the script of Remanso.

Remanso
During the Paraguayan dictatorship, Carmen, who belongs to a traditional family (supporter of the dictator’s party), discovers that a girl was raped and murdered in the house of a neighboring military officer. A terrifying reality she had yet to face startles her daily life. Carmen fights against the silence imposed by her surroundings until she manages to report the crime.
