Still: Stranger Than Rotterdam with Sara Driver
Noah KLOSTER (United States) is a Brooklyn-based artist working with his brother Lewie Kloster on animation films. They completed their first film, Legal Smuggling with Christine Choy (2016), after Noah graduated from high school. It was submitted to Lincoln Centers' New York Film Festival and screened at over 25 other festivals worldwide, including the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. He attended Pratt University's animation programme but dropped out in 2018 due to the demand for his animation work. Since 2016, they have created animated short films between commercial jobs. The duo uses cardboard, construction paper, cotton balls, and magic markers in their films to retreat to how animation felt before the digital age took over this medium. They founded their production company Tall Glass with Ice Productions in 2018. Five of their six short films have screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals. Four of the five films available online have received Vimeo Staff Picks and have accumulated over half a million views.
