Martin Walz (1964, Zurich) grew up in Berlin. He did an acting course and played in several films. He then studied film at the New York University en was assistant director to Thomas Brasch, Dani Levy (Robby, Kalle, Paul) and Wolf Vogel and worked as scriptwriter. His feature début Sazka - Die Wette (1991) gained him several awards.
