Marjane SATRAPI (1969, Rasht, Iran) grew up in Tehran in a progressive family. She has written and illustrated the award-winning graphic novels Persepolis 1-4, Broderies en Poulet aux prunes. Persepolis is her film making début and won prizes at Cannes (2007) and Vancouver (2007). The film is a animated adaption of Marjane’s series of autobiographical graphic novels.
