Mario O'Hara

Mario O'HARA (1946, Zamboanga City, The Philippines) found himself in film through radio and theatre and his cooperation with Lino Brocka. At first, he worked as an actor in Brocka's films, later as scriptwriter. For instance, he wrote the scripts for two of Brocka's best films: Tinimbang ka ngunit kulang (1974) and Insiang (1976). Since 1975, he has worked as a director and revealed himself to be a versatile film maker who operates in genres varying from social realism to horror, terror drama and action films.
