Maria IGNATENKO (1986, Russia) is a screenwriter, director and lead instructor at the Moscow School of New Cinema. In 2008 she graduated from the Faculty of Journalism, Moscow State University. Eight years later she graduated from the Moscow School of New Cinema (director's laboratory of Dmitry Mamulia). Since 2018, she is a lead instructor of the Directing lab at the Moscow School of New Cinema. Achrome is Ignatenko's second feature film. Her directorial debut, the feature In Deep Sleep, took part in the Berlinale Forum at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival. Achrome was selected for IFFR's Tiger Competition 2022.
