Mahesh Narayanan

Mahesh NARAYANAN (1982, India) is a film director, screenwriter, editor and cinematographer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He graduated from University College Thiruvananthapuram and continued his studies at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute in Tamil Nadu. He began working as a film editor in 2006 and has since contributed to many award-winning films. Narayanan made his directorial debut with the much acclaimed Take Off (2017), which was a blockbuster and won many awards. His second feature, C U SOON (2020), an experimental production made with the use of an iPhone, was also well received and released on Amazon Prime Video. Malik (2021), also released on Amazon Prime Video and part of the Regained programme at IFFR 2022, is a non-linear political thriller following a patriarch and his rise to power in his community.
