      Still: I Want to Live
      Filmmaker M. Amin (1925, Malaysia) explored socio-political themes of Malay people as inspiration for his films. He began his career as an actor in films for the Shaw Brothers’ Malay Film Productions before moving to Cathay-Keris Films, where he had roles in Pontianak (1957) and Hang Jebat (1961). He made his directorial debut with Lanchang Kuning (1962), a critique directed at the government for its treatment of Malaysians, under the mentorship of filmmaker L. Krishnan. He directed more than 25 films at Cathay-Keris until the studio closed in 1978. He passed away in 2003.
