KIM Sungsoo (1961, South Korea) is a producer, screenwriter and filmmaker. He is best known for the teen film Beat (1997), the epic drama Musa (2001) and the comedy Please Teach Me English (2003). The film Asura: City of Madness was released in 2016 and won awards for Best Actor and Best Cinematography at the Korean Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Very hard Korean noir, in which it becomes clear that it’s better not to be too squeamish in local politics. A corrupt, populist mayor stops at nothing in his greedy renovation plans, while his accidental sidekick becomes increasingly stuck between the countless conflicting interests and his extremely ill wife.
