Julio Hernández Cordón
Julio Hernández CORDÓN (1975, USA) grew up in Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala. He began his studies in Communications and Journalism in Guatemala and later studied filmmaking at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in México City. His debut Gasolina (2008) won The Horizons Award in San Sebastian. Marimbas from Hell (2010) was made with support from the Hubert Bals Fund. Hernández Cordón loves to work with non-professional actors and his films, often shot in a documentary style, have won awards at multiple international film festivals. Behind There's Lightning (2017) is his sixth feature film.
