Julia Loktev

Julia LOKTEV (1969, St. Petersburg) emigrated at the age of nine to the USA. She came to filmmaking through sound rather than image. Her graduate film Moment of Impact, which she shot without a crew and edited herself, won several prizes and is in the permanent film collection of MoMA. Julia Loktev also makes multiple screen video installations. The Loneliest Planet is her second fiction feature.
