Jonathan OgilvieStill: Lone Wolf
The career of filmmaker Jonathan OGILVIE (1962, New Zealand) began as a crew member on several feature films, including working in the special-effects department on Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket (1987). This experience fuelled his desire to become a filmmaker himself. In 1990, he graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio School, and since then he has made numerous short and feature films that have screened at major film festivals and have sold internationally. Despondent Divorcee (1995) and This Film Is a Dog (1996) were both selected to run in competition at Cannes with the latter also winning first prize at Tropfest. In 2017, Ogilvie gained a PhD from Macquarie University for his thesis The Cinematics of Surveillance, with his innovative screenplay for Lone Wolf (2021) serving as a case study.
