JEONG Gayoung is a filmmaker from South Korea. She studied at the Korea National University of Arts. Her directorial feature debut was Bitch On the Beach&nbsp;(2016) in which she played the leading part, just as in her film&nbsp;Hit the Night (2017).&nbsp;

The number of female filmmakers who break through in South Korea still forms a small minority. Hit the Night, in which Jeong Gayoung herself plays the lead as a cheeky filmmaker who spends the evenings researching nice men, is a welcome surprise. Sharp dialogues, but in the end mild and moving.
