Hana MAKHMALBAF (1988, Iran) comes from a distinguished family of filmmakers. She is the youngest daughter of Mohsen Makhmalbaf and sister of Samira. She previously made the short documentary The Day My Aunt Was Ill. In 2003 she made the documentary Joy of Madness, that documented her sister's film At Five in the Afternoon. Green Days is her second feature, made after her prize winning Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame (2007).

The young director Hana Makhmalbaf, who made a great impression with Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame (2007), shot Green Days partly in Teheran, where the hopeful supporters of the opposition leader Mousavi went into the streets in the run-up to the presidential elections.
