Haile Gerima
Haile GERIMA (1946, Ethiopia) studied in the USA at the Goodman School of Drama in Los Angeles and at the film academy in Los Angeles (UCLA) where he made two films on 8 and 16mm before going back to Ethiopia and making Harvest 3000 years (1976). Gerima is perhaps best known through Sankofa (1993), the film that scored high points at several international film festivals.
