Daniel HOESL (1982, Austria) studied in Salzburg, Vienna and at FAMU in Prague. After working in the arts for a while, he began working for filmmakers such as Ulrich SEIDL (on his Paradise trilogy) and Michael GLAWOGGER. Hoesl is interested in radical concepts, in a narrative and aesthetic way. He is founder of the production company and film collective A European Film Conspiracy, with whom he made his feature debut, Soldier Jane (2013). His feature WiNWiN was made in 2016. The documentary Davos (2020) won a Romy award for the best cinema documentary in 2021 and is a co-directed with Julia Niemann. Together they made Veni Vidi Vici (2024), officially selected for IFFR 2024.
