Cláudio Francisco Cunha

Cláudio Francisco CUNHA (1946, Brazil) began his career at São Paulo’s TV Excelsior as an extra and production assistant. Developing an interest in acting, he made his feature film debut as a lead in Roberto Mauro’s As mulheres amam por conveniência (1972). In 1974, aged 28, he directed and co-wrote the marital anxiety comedy O clube das infiéis.
Over the course of the next ten years, he would go on to direct eight features as well as produce and act in several other noted Boca do Lixo projects. These included the hugely successful Snuff - Victims of Pleasure and Amada amante (1978), films that helped to reclaim the place of Brazilian cinema within the commercial distribution market.
Currently, Cunha acts in and directs humorous stage plays at some of São Paulo’s most popular theatrical venues.
