Caroline Strubbe
After her film studies Caroline STRUBBE (1965, Belgium) worked on several documentaries. Her films are intimate and minimalistic. Melanomen (1992) , her first short film, won several prizes and her mid-length film Taxi Driver (1997) got a honourable mention at the Sundance Festival. Her feature film debut Lost Persons Area (2009) won the SACD Screenwriting Award in the Semaine de la Critique section of the Cannes film festival.

Feature debut about loneliness and alienation is aptly set in a no-man's-land filled with high-tension masts and mobile homes and follows the life of the foreman Marcus, his bored wife and his eccentric daughter. The arrival of a Hungarian employee and a tragic accident throw everything into confusion.

Atmospheric and sensitive story of a man and a girl fleeing through Europe. The reason for this gradually becomes clear, as they slowly learn to tolerate one another. This beautifully filmed journey ends in a hiding place on the English coast where they are forced to examine their tragic past.
