Brunello RONDI (1924-1989, Italy) began his career as a screenwriter, working on films such as Roberto Rossellini’s Europa ’51 (1952) and Federico Fellini’s Oscar-nominated La Dolce Vita (1960). He made his directorial debut with Una vita violenta (1962), which he co-directed with Paolo Heusch, although his follow-up feature Il demonio (1963) was nominated for Best First Work in Venice. That same year, he worked on the screenplay of Fellini’s , which earned him his second Oscar nomination. He frequently worked with Fellini, co-writing seven of his screenplays. City of Women (1980) would be their final collaboration. He directed his final film La voce in 1982.
