Bruce Gladwin

Bruce GLADWIN (1966, Australia) is an artist, performance-maker, film director and writer. He has been the artistic director of Back to Back Theatre since 1999. In 2017, Gladwin was the director and writer of the company’s first TV film Oddlands, which was produced by Matchbox and Back to Back Productions. Oddlands screened at Adelaide Festival and was broadcast on ABC TV and streaming services. In 2021, he wrote and directed a screen adaptation of Shadow, a world premiere at IFFR 2022, marking the company's first feature film. His works with Back to Back Theatre have toured extensively, including presentations at the world’s pre-eminent contemporary arts festivals and cultural venues. In 2015, Gladwin was awarded the Australia Council for the Arts’ Inaugural Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre.
