Bernardo Bertolucci

Bernardo BERTOLUCCI (1940, Parma, Italy – 2018, Rome) started his career as assistant to director Pier Paolo Pasolini and directed his first film at the age of 21. He later made a name for himself with films including Novecento, Il conformista and Last Tango in Paris. With The Last Emperor, he won Oscars for Best Directing and Best Screenplay; in late 2102 he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the European Film Academy.
