Shot in the Marilog forest in southern Philippines, Bagane Fiola’s film follows a family, actual members of the indigenous Matigsalog community, whose lifestyle is threatened due to a lack of food and the impositions of a neighbouring tribe. The forest fills the screen with serene beauty and formidable intensity.
