Ang Lee

Ang LEE (1954, Pingtung, Taiwan) studied at the National Taiwan College of Arts, completed a theatre course at the University of Illinois and studied film at the University of New York. His first three films (Pushing Hands, The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink Man Woman), a trilogy about generation and cultural conflicts, won him various prizes. His later work, including great films such as Sense and Sensibility and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, has also received many awards. Lee is regarded as one of the greatest of today's film makers.
