An van. Dienderen

An VAN. DIENDEREN (1971, Belgium) is a documentary filmmaker. She studied audiovisual arts at Sint-Lukas, obtained her PhD in Comparative Cultural Sciences at Ghent University and was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley. Van Dienderen founded SoundImageCulture, an art workspace that supports projects in the spaces between documentary, anthropology and visual arts. Besides making films, she teaches at School of Arts Ghent and publishes frequently on visual/performative anthropology.
