Alexander Payne

Alexander PAYNE (1961, USA) was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He studied History and Spanish Literature at Stanford University and Fine Art at the University of California in Los Angeles. After directing the short film The Passion of Martin (1991), he made his feature debut with Citizen Ruth in 1996. Both Sideways and The Descendants received an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Nebraska was selected for the Competition of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
