Marina Stepanska

Born in Kyiv (Ukraine) in 1982, Marina STEPANSKA graduated at the Karpenko-Kary National University of Film, Theatre and Television (Film Department, speciality: director, studio masters: V. Popkov and I. Fabish) in 2004. Further, Marina worked at the experimental theatre “school”, where she studied the methodology of working with non-actors. She completed a 6-month ARCHIDOC programme for documentary filmmakers at the French film and television school La Fémis. She has made a few short films. Her scripted feature debut Falling (2017) received several awards at international film festivals and three awards at the National Film Awards “Golden Dzyga” in 2018.

    Nina is a 6-year old curious girl who lives with her mother Antonina in a small village on the outskirts of Kyiv. Vera, a wild woman, appears in th
