Gabriel Azorín

Gabriel AZORÍN has directed the short films Greyhounds, Tomorrow, the Bullet and The Noise of the Universe and the medium-length documentary film The Mutants. He also has been a member of the art collective lacasinegra for over a decade. His work has been screened at festivals such as San Sebastián Film Festival, Entrevues de Belfort, Festival dei Popoli, the Sevilla Film Festival or Ficunam as well as in different museums and cultural centres. He complements his work as a director with other tasks such as artistic advisor or producer in films like Azor by Andreas Fontana (Berlinale 2021), La sangre es blanca by Óscar Vincentelli (awarded at FIDMarseille 2021) or <3 (DOK:Leipzig 2018, awarded at the Sevilla Festival 2018) by María Antón Cabot. His directorial feature debut Last Night I Conquered the City of Thebes (2025) was supported by IFFR as part of Darkroom 2025 and premiered at Venice film festival as part of the Giornate degli Autori section.
