Nadira Murray

Nadira grew up in Central Asia, from an artistic background during the Soviet Union with both parents working as theatre actors. She also trained at Drama Studio in London and worked as an actress in London theatres before finding her passion for storytelling via screen. Nadira has been living in the UK for almost 20 years. She studied at the Media Business School, Spain, before establishing her company Sylph Productions. Sylph's short films have premiered at Oscar & BAFTA qualifying festivals including Aesthetica; LA International; Interfilm; and Brooklyn Film Festival. And Nadira has been a participant at Rotterdam Lab (2021) and is currently part of BIFA's Springboard Mentorship Programme. Nadira Murray won the 2022 BIFA Breakthrough Producer Award; as well as a feature film she produced WINNERS won BIFA's Raindance Discovery Awards 2022. WINNERS won the Audience Award at the EIFF 2022; won the Best UK Feature Film at the Raindance 2022; is the official UK submission for the International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards (2023).

Led by a Producer, Writer Nadira Murray, based in Edinburgh, Sylph Productions aims to connect the east and west through audiovisual experience, developing scripted and unscripted stories to promote ethnically diverse voices and bring cultures together through artistic expression. Sylph Productions is a passion and energy-driven company with access to raising finance and delivering high concept films with high production values.
