Founded in January 2017 by filmmaker Mohammed Alhamoud, Last Scene Films is a Riyadh-based production house specialized in producing independent arthouse features, documentaries, and short films. Its debut feature Last Visit by Abdulmohsen Aldhabaan is the first Arab film selected at East of the West Competition in KVIFF and the Jury Award winner at Marrakech International Film Festival. Last Scene Films produced award-winning shorts such as Silah by Hussam Alhulwah, the winner of Best Director Award at the Saudi Film Festival, and Ertidad by Mohammed Alhamoud, the first Saudi short selected in the International Competition of Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.
Mohammed Alhamoud co-founded the Talashi Film collective in 2008 before obtaining an MFA in film from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2013. He wrote and directed and produced a few shorts including Shadow (2009) and Ertidad (2019), selected for the International Competition of Clermont-Ferrand. Alhamoud produced Last Visit by Abdulmohsen Aldhabaan, premiered in KVIFF's East of the West Competition. He is currently developing Four Acts of Disruption, winner of a development fund from the Red Sea Lodge. Before founding Last Scene Films Alhamoud produced a few short films and documentaries including the award-winning short Hajwalah (2015) by Rana Jarbou and the BBC documentary Our World (2016).
