Miri Gossing

Miri Gossing studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. She grew up in Bergisches Land, a rural area in NRW, Germany. She's part of an artist, producer, filmmaker and curator duo together with Lina Sieckmann. In 2017 Gossing and Sieckmann formed the female-led production company Schalten und Walten and the Blonde Cobra - Festival for Queer & Experimental Cinema in Cologne, Germany. Their films are shown internationally in festivals and art institutions (e.g. IFFR, Hamburger Bahnhof- Museum für Gegenwart, Image Forum Tokyo, Portland Art Museum) and have been awarded with several prizes (e.g. Wim Wenders Stipend, German Short Film Prize, Nomination Preis der Nationalgalerie, Oberhausen International Short Film Festival).

Schalten und Walten - Germany

Schalten und Walten is a Cologne based independent and female-led production company which was founded by the artist and filmmaker duo Miri Gossing and Lina Sieckmann in 2017. On the nexus of film and visual arts, Schalten und Walten is developing feature and short films, video works and moving image installations. Their works have been presented at international film festivals and art institutions. Schalten und Walten is co-producing internationally with a current focus on the USA, UK and the Netherlands.
