Michael is a Swiss producer working between Zürich and London. After over 10 years in TV and commercials, Michael moved to the UK to study at London Film School and NFTS. He subsequently served as acquisitions and development executive at the international sales agent Bankside Films, where he was actively involved in the acquisition of the Penelope Cruz starring and produced On The Fringe (Venice), Wolf (TIFF) and Willem Dafoe starring Inside, the latter two selling to Focus globally. He’s now active as a producer in Switzerland and the UK, with projects in development with various Swiss public funders, Film4 in the UK, the Doha Film Institute and Red Sea Fund. He was also a producer on the Sundance 2023 premiering short White Ant.
Cloud Fog Haze Pictures – Switzerland
Cloud Fog Haze Pictures is a taste and filmmaker-driven production company based in Zürich. Its focus lays on building strong creative bonds with emerging and established filmmakers, supporting bold cinematic takes on stories with an inherent relevance that can engage an international audience. The company’s first productions were the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival winning genre short Les Héritières and the Canadian-Swiss feature Something You Said Last Night, helmed by Sundance Special Jury Prize winner Luis De Filippis. The film premiered at TIFF and San Sebastian in 2022, where it won the Changemaker Award and the Sebastiane Award respectively. It is sold by Memento International and UTA. Upcoming projects include Swiss Film Prize nominee Loïc Hobi’s debut feature, amongst others.
