Professional Profile 

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Mariana Ferraz has a bachelor's degree in journalism and a postgraduate degree in communication and image. As an executive producer at Matizar Filmes (founded in Rio), she is current making the fictions Tale of a Certain Orient by Marcelo Gomes and Neuros by Guilherme coelho. In 2020, she produced Private Photos (short, by Marcelo Grabowsky) and Lights On (documentary by Guilherme Coelho). In 2017, she coordinated Matizar's Creative Core team, which developed the scripts of three feature films and two series. Mariana Ferraz was the producer of many features films such as Orphans of Eldorado by Guilherme Coelho, The House is an Island of Wind and Rain by Letícia Simões and Cildo by Gustavo Rosa de Moura. As a production assistant, she worked with Eduardo Coutinho, one of the most important Brazilian documentary directors.

Company Profile

Matizar Filmes was created in 2002 with the objective of producing cinema and TV on subjects relevant to Brazil, joining high technical and artistic quality. In 2004, they released Fala Tu, Lives of Rhyme. The company produced Playing (2007) and Moscow (2009), award-winning docs by Eduardo Coutinho, and in 2007, PQD, Brazilian Paratroopers. From 2006 to 2011, they produced a doc series, composed of One Sunday with Frederico Morais (2011), 5+5+ (2010), Cildo (2009) and Fernando Lemos, Through the Image (2006). Matizar also made Wide Sargasso Sea (2012) and The House is an Island of Wind and Rain (2015). The fiction Orphans of Eldorado was released in 2015, becoming the first one produced by Matizar. In 2020, they produced Lights On and Private Photos. The company is currently producing Tale of a Certain Orient and Neuros.
