Profile 

Maria Altamirano is a Peruvian-American producer whose work has screened at festivals worldwide, including Cannes, San Sebastián Film Festival, SXSW Film Festival, and Slamdance. Her credits include Alexis Gambis’ feature Son of Monarchs, a 2021 Sundance Film Festival selection, and Raven Jackson’s award-winning short Nettles, currently streaming on the Criterion Channel. A Film Independent Producing Fellow, Maria is developing Jackson’s debut feature All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt, a Cinereach, SFFILM, Tribeca, and IFP-supported project, as well as Adrián Cárdenas’ debut El Cuento de la Ballena, to be shot in Cuba. Prior to filmmaking, Maria was Market Research Manager at Paramount Pictures where she generated development and marketing insights for the studio’s slate. She holds an MBA and MFA from New York University.
