Laurence Buelens is a Belgian producer and director. In 2014, she founded Rayuela Productions. Laurence studied journalism and international politics in Belgium, and documentary film in Argentina at the University of Cinema of Buenos Aires. Laurence worked and lived two years in Palestine, in the village of Battir, to which she dedicated the short film The Last Days of April, a documentary tale about the fate of the village during the war of 1948-49.
Rayuela Productions - Belgium
Rayuela Productions is a production company based in Brussels. Founded in 2014 by Laurence Buelens, it was originally dedicated to creative documentary, but has produced fiction since 2019. It focuses on films with subtle content and powerful form, which bring out new perspectives to an active audience. Rayuela Productions works closely with passionate and committed authors from different backgrounds, with whom it creates lasting relationships. The company’s latest release is a short fiction film directed by a promising young female director, Salome Crickx. It is a dystopian dark comedy set in rural Belgium called Said of a Deer That Sheds Its Antlers.
