Lara Hickey
Lara was born and bred in Ireland and is based in Dublin. Even though she studied economics and politics, her first love was theatre and her background is in theatre and arts, including as associate producer at the Abbey Theatre, Ireland’s National Theatre where she produced an award winning programme of new Irish writing, classical work from the Irish canon and hugely successful international co-productions and tours. Moving into film five years ago, she has also learned the ropes of the industry working in production accounts for BBC, RTÉ, Vico Films, Zodiak Media, Hail Mary Pictures, EON, NBC Universal and most recently for Skydance and Apple TV on their TV series Foundation. She spent 2021 working with Element Pictures as acting head of development and continues to collaborate with them on a number of projects. Lara set up Copper Alley Productions with her brother, actor and filmmaker Jack Hickey, and their father, James Hickey so the business of film is a family affair for them!

Copper Alley Productions is an award-winning production company based in Dublin with an outstanding track record in producing short films. We have recently moved into the development of feature length film and television drama with four feature films and a documentary series in active funded development with Screen Ireland, the Arts Council of Ireland and the Irish Research Council. We are interested in character driven, intellectually rigorous, philosophically curious and emotionally engaging cinema with a strong audience focus, showcasing the diversity of Irish creative talent.
