Joyce Prado
Joyce Prado is a director, scriptwriter, and founder of Oxalá Produções, a company focused on content around Afro-Brazilians, diasporic culture, and community. In 2020, she premiered her first feature Chico Rei entre Nós (doc, 94', 2020) at the 44th São Paulo International Film Festival, which was awarded Best Documentary for audience choice and Honourable Mention by the Jury.
Oxalá Produções - Brazil
For the past seven years, Oxalá Produções has been developing audiovisual projects focusing on content related to the Afro-Brazilian and diaspora culture. In fiction and documentary, in the most different formats and windows. Some of its main productions are the fiction short film Fábula de Vó Ita (2016), the documentary short Okán Mímó (2017), and the feature film Zion (in-development) from director Bruno Ribeiro selected for ‘Proyecta’ in Ventana Sur 2019.
