In the year 1492, three men escape from Christopher Columbus’s ship, taking a sail with them. They flee across a rocky and inhospitable land, to escape the clutches of the angry crew. Nearby, a woman discovers her severely injured sister who tried to leap to her death. She brings her sister to a healer in the hope of saving her life.

Like their prior, shorter works, Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado’s idiosyncratic feature film debut explores the relationship between mythology and materialism. The filmmakers used archival material, filmed in 16mm, and edited their material by hand. This poetic adventure film was inspired by an essay by the Italian feminist scholar Silvia Federici, that provides a critical perspective on the repressive and bloodthirsty side of Western capitalist expansionism in the Old and New Worlds.
