Where are the festival locations?

All festival venues are easily accessible by public transport. Most places are within walking distance from Rotterdam Central Station and from each other, with LantarenVenster on the Kop van Zuid as an exception. LantarenVenster is easily accessible by metro, tram and bicycle. From Rotterdam Central Station, subway line D or tram 20, 23 or 25; get off at Wilhelminaplein. How do I get to IFFR?

International Film Festival Rotterdam is easily accessible by both public transport and by car.

By train

Trains from the Netherlands stop at Rotterdam Central Station. Tip: plan your journey on the website of the NS, and check for the departure date travel information.

Travelling from Amsterdam, Schiphol or Breda? You can be really fast in Rotterdam by using high-speed Intercity Direct. Note: for Intercity Direct an additional charge is needed next to a regular train ticket.

By car

Google Maps is the best option to find the fastest route to the festival. Rotterdam is easily accessible by the A13, A15, A16 and A20 motorways. There are several parking options available in the centre of Rotterdam. 

If you want to park right in the festival centre,  the Weenatunnel has a direct connection to the Kruisplein carpark. The Stadsgarage Schouwburgplein 1 can be reached via the Karel Doormanstraat. If you plan to go to Kop van Zuid, across the Erasmus Bridge, you can park in the parking garage close toe Erasmus Bridge. You can find more informationin the City Guide Rotterdam.

How do I get around in Rotterdam?

The tram, bus and metro in Rotterdam are run by the RET. Tickets can be bought on the tram/train/bus. You can also use an OV-chipkaart, a reusable smartcard for travelling in the Netherlands. You can store credit in these cards to pay for your public transport travels as you go. OV-chipkaarten are available at RET vending machines and service points.

Festival Centre de Doelen

De Doelen is the beating heart of IFFR at walking distance of Rotterdam Central Station. Here you can find the central box office, the accreditation and information desk, and it is also the place to meet people, get a drink and bite.
