What are the differences between the old Tiger Friends memberships and the new Tiger Membership?

First, the most important difference: We’ve disconnected the charity aspect from the Tiger Membership. This means the regular Tiger Members now pay €15 less than the former Tiger Friends. In this new set-up, it’s all about the discount and the advantages.

Tiger Members receive (among other things) a €3 discount on tickets and get priority access to ticket sales. They can choose to add a discounted year-long subscription to IFFR Unleashed. Real film omnivores become Tiger Member Supreme. They can purchase an unlimited number of tickets for €0 and receive two invitations for the opening night alongside a number of other benefits ensuring a completely carefree festival experience (including a year-long subscription to IFFR Unleashed and priority access to ticket sales).

All types of Tiger Members receive a personal pass. Purchased tickets will automatically be loaded onto the pass which will be scanned upon entering the film screenings.

What are Tiger Members?

Tiger Members are the biggest fans of the festival. They are the first to gain access to the online ticket sales, receive a €3 discount on regular festival tickets, receive a discount on Masterclasses & Talks and make use of numerous other benefits during the festival. The membership costs €35 per year and can be upgraded to a Tiger Membership with IFFR Unleashed at any time or - if you want even more - the Tiger Membership Supreme.

How do I become a Tiger Member?

You can become a Tiger Member via the website. During the festival you can also become a Tiger Member at the box office at the De Doelen, the heart of the festival.

What is the difference between Tiger Member, Tiger Member with IFFR Unleashed and Tiger Member Supreme?

As a Tiger Member you are part of the IFFR Community: the most loyal visitors and the biggest festival fans. The Tiger Membership is suitable for the ardent festival film viewers who strive for something more. You enjoy numerous advantages such as 24-hours-priority on ticket sales and a €3 discount on every regular festival ticket.

You do not have enough of the festival yet and want more? Then you can upgrade to Tiger Member with IFFR Unleashed. With this card you will enjoy all the advantages that Tiger Members have, and on top, you will get access to our VOD platform, IFFR Unleashed. This way you can continue to enjoy more IFFR films even after the festival.

We don’t dare to ask, but what if that is not enough? Then we have the Tiger Membership Supreme. With this card you can enjoy all the benefits of the Tiger Members Unleashed and more. What can I do with my Tiger Member pass?

Your Tiger Member pass is the proves your membership. Every year you receive a new pass with a keycord prior to the festival. As soon as you buy tickets online or at the cash desk at the Tiger Member rate, they are automatically loaded onto your card. So, no more hassle with paper tickets. The pass is scanned at the entrance of the hall, and your performance can begin.

I just became a Tiger Member. Can I buy tickets at a discount now?

As soon as you become a Tiger Member, you receive a discount on the tickets that you order. You have to add your Tiger Membership to your shopping basket before you pay the tickets. Note: If you remove your Tiger Membership from your shopping basket, you will first receive an error message and then you can choose the regular rate yourself.

Do I also need my Tiger Member card to order tickets?

No, your Tiger Membership is linked to your MyIFFR account. The tickets that you order will be linked to your account and automatically loaded on the card. Take your Tiger Member-pass to the cinema because it will be scanned at the entrance.

When does the special pre-sale for Tiger Members start?

Tiger Members have 24-hours-priority when it comes to regular ticket sales. It can be very busy on the website during the first couple of days, so make sure you are a Tiger Member well before that time and keep the login details of your MyIFFR account at hand.

How many tickets can I buy with a Tiger Members discount?

The Tiger Membership is personal and linked to your MyIFFR account. You can buy one ticket per performance at the Tiger Member rate and extra tickets at regular, CJP, MBO or student rates (max. 20). A maximum of one extra ticket per film applies during the special pre-sale. Read more about buying tickets at Ticket sales.

Can I also buy tickets for other Tiger Members?

Yes, you can buy tickets for another Tiger Member, no matter whether the other Tiger Member has a regular Tiger membership, a Tiger membership with IFFR Unleashed, or a Tiger Membership Supreme. Through MyIFFR Friends you can add friends to your MyIFFR account and then purchase tickets for other Tiger Members, while retaining their privileges. Read below on how exactly you can do that.

How do I add another Tiger Member to my MyIFFR account, so that I can buy tickets for this person?

These steps apply whether the other Tiger Member has a regular Tiger Membership, a Tiger Membership with IFFR Unleashed, or a Tiger Membership Supreme. 

To be able to order tickets for another Tiger Member while retaining his / her Tiger Member rights, you must become MyIFFR Friends. You do this as follows:

Step 1
Ask the Tiger Member for whom you want to order tickets which e-mail address he / she uses in his / her MyIFFR account, and what his / her MyIFFR-ID is. The MyIFFR-ID is mentioned in the dashboard of your MyIFFR-account.

Step 2
Log in with your own MyIFFR account by clicking on the profile icon / profile photo on the top right of this website.

Step 3
Once logged in, click on the 'MyIFFR Friends' button in your dashboard. An overlay opens in your screen. Enter the e-mail address and MyIFFR-ID of the person for whom you want to order tickets for and click on 'add'. Your MyIFFR Friend will now be added to your friends list. Note: this friendship is two-way traffic. When you add someone, you automatically appear with the other person in his / her friends list and you can order for each other.

How do I buy tickets for another Tiger Member?

These steps apply whether the other Tiger Member has a regular Tiger Membership, a Tiger Membership with IFFR Unleashed, or a Tiger Membership Supreme. 

Step 1
First add the Tiger Member to your friends list in MyIFFR. How exactly you can do this, you can read above at 'How do I add another Tiger Member to my MyIFFR account?'

Step 2
Find the movie you want to watch together and click on 'Buy tickets'. Select the desired number of tickets for the 'Tiger Member' price type. If you have accidentally chosen a different price type, no problem. All tickets can be modified in the shopping cart.

Pay attention! You can only buy a ticket for a friend at the price type associated with his / her specific membership. So if your friend has a Tiger Member Supreme-pass, a ticket for the 'Tiger Membership Supreme' rate must be selected.

Step 3
In your shopping basket, you can see an overview of your order. There you can assign tickets to your MyIFFR Friends. You probably will now see error messages in your shopping basket, because you still have to assign the tickets to your MyIFFR Friend.

To assign tickets to your MyIFFR Friend, click on the person icon for the relevant performance. The order opens, and here you can adjust for whom the ticket is intended.

Pay attention! If you do not see the person icon, then you do not have a friends list yet and you can not order tickets for another Tiger Member.

If the error message does not disappear, but you see the name of your MyIFFR Friend in the message now, he / she already has a ticket for this movie in his / her name. You can remove or buy the ticket you reserved from the shopping cart for another Tiger Member or at a different rate.

When all notifications are gone, you are ready to complete your order. And do not worry: when you're in the shopping cart, you can take your time. Every time you add or change something in the shopping cart, the time to pay will be extended.

Step 4
After payment you will receive a confirmation of your purchase in your mailbox. Within your MyIFFR dashboard you can also find the order by clicking on 'View tickets'. Here you are also able to see who you bought a ticket for. The person for whom you bought a ticket will also see this ticket in his / her own dashboard. Pay attention! This person will not receive a confirmation mail of your purchase.
All tickets that you purchase for other Tiger Members are loaded on the card of the person for whom you bought them. Your own tickets will be loaded on your pass.

 

Do I have to renew my Tiger Membership every year?

No, that will happens automatically. You can cancel your membership before 1 November each year. If you do not do that, you will automatically remain a Tiger Member. The membership fee (€35) is deducted from your account in November each year.

Does the Tiger Discount pass still exist?
When will I receive my Tiger Member pass?

If you became a Tiger Member, Tiger Member with IFFR Unleashed or Tiger Member Supreme after 4 January and / or have not received a pass by mail, you can pick them up at the box office in De Doelen, our festival center, from the start of the festival.

I do not have a Dutch bank account number. Can I purchase a Tiger Membership?

If you have a European account number, you can purchase a Tiger Member-pass the regular way. If this does not work or if you have a non-European account number, you can send an e-mail to [email protected]. You will then receive instructions on how to make the payment in order.

How do I cancel my Tiger Membership?

Every year you can cancel your membership before November 1 by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

How can I change my data?

You can easily change your (e-mail) address and phone number in your MyIFFR account. Do you want your membership fee to be debited from another account number? Send an e-mail to [email protected].
