They are everywhere, without us observing them. These ‘invisibles’ can only be seen on camera and only heard thanks to a microphone. Footage shot in public spaces shows people who seem non-existent to everyone else in the frame.

This original, adventurous Finnish film provides insight into the lives of two of these invisibles. Tuomas works from home for a power company’s call centre and looks after his daughter, the only person on the planet to see him with their naked eyes. Ninni is about to physically meet her online lover for the first time – although telephones and webcams continue to be crucial tools for communication. She explains that she has never ever looked anyone in the eye thus far in life.

The poetic fiction of Nobody Meets Your Eyes is a tender story, about fundamental loneliness and the consolation of contact, however the latter is achieved.
