An anonymous man leaves civilisation; a journey with disappearing as its objective. The further he removes himself in time and distance from everything he knows, the closer he gets to complete obscurity. Verging on madness, he returns to the world he left behind, with a new consciousness and the perspective of someone who has opened their eyes for the first time.

“The words for this film are from a notebook found on a train in southern China. No changes were made other than the conversion from the first person to the second.” This is the opening statement of this cinematic essay, which alternates 3D animation with images of landscapes and cities visited by the faceless lead. His words speak of dissolving into nothingness, whilst simultaneously exploring a pure state of being.
