Elisa Fernanda Pirir
Elisa Fernanda Pirir is a film producer from Guatemala, based in Norway. She graduated from The National Film School in Norway with the student Oscar nominated «Generation Mars». She has been working with several acclaimed international directors such as Thomas Arslan, Ciro Guerra, Cristina Gallego, Nabil Ayouch, Laura Mora, César Díaz and some of Norway's most acclaimed directors. Her work has been awarded at many international film festivals, and in 2021 she produced two Oscar qualifying short film contenders. In 2023 she stablished STÆR together with producer KriStine Ann Skaret in Tromsø in Nothern Norway.STÆR was created to provide a new breath and opportunities for both new and established talents who want to challenge with their artistic output. We will discover new voices that want to take their place and challenge traditional film conventions of filmmaking. She is a Berlinale Talents, Guadalajara Talents, Nordic Filmlab, EAVE and EWA alumni. Elisa is also working as a short film and documentary advisor at the Arts Council Norway.
STÆR – Norway
STÆR was created with the aim of developing, producing and co-producing independent feature films, documentaries of high artistic quality.
STÆR (Starlings) are migratory birds that flock together to support and protect each other when they fly in flocks from Scandinavia to South Europe and back. Together they stay strong and reach their goal after a long and demanding journey. This is the inspiration behind and the heart of STÆR.
STÆR was created to provide a new breath and opportunities for both new and established talents who want to challenge with their artistic
output. We will discover new voices that want to take their place and challenge traditional film conventions of filmmaking.
STÆR has its head office in Tromsø and has a strong focus on diversity and international cooperation.
In 2023 we will premiere our first feature documentary in the 73 Berlinale International Film Festival CALLS FROM MOSCOW by the Cuban filmmaker Luis Alejandro Yerowe. We are also co-producing the new films of Nabil Ayouch (TOUDA), Inadelso Cosa (THE NIGHTS STILL SMELL OF GUNDPOWDER) and Juan Andrés Arango (WHERE THE RIVER BEGINS).
We also start the production of Norway's first joike musical ÁRRU early autumn 2023 directed by Elle Sofe Sara.
STÆR is concerned with important and relevant films for a modern audience. Along with our outreach producer Sarah Winge-Sørensen, we want to create commitment around our film and find each film's potential audience.
