Curaçao IFFR

-

IFFR’s little sister in Willemstad. Alongside a varied selection of IFFR films and several special programmes, every year in April Curacao IFFR (CIFFR) presents two competitions aimed specifically at regional talent: the Yellow Robin Award Competition, in which five films by young – usually debut – filmmakers compete, and the Caribbean Shorts Competition consisting of seven short films presented by six partner festivals (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago) and by CIFFR itself. The winning film will then be screened at these seven festivals.
Held over five days, CIFFR was initiated in 2012 by IFFR and Curacao-based foundation Fundashon Bon Intenshon with the aim of broadening the range of films available on Curacao and helping develop young film talent from the region.
