CineMart 2022 - The Outside

Goals at CineMart We consider The Outside as an international project. The film will focus on universal issues like the human condition, mysteries of the universe and current issues such as how to preserve our planet. One of the film's strengths is that we will shoot it in studios but also in real locations in the Canary Islands, where we have incredible places that look like an unknown planet but also we have one of the most attractive tax regimes for films. We want to find and broaden our network with potential co-producers who are interested in participating through initial funding and logistics but also with an interest in science fiction with a strongly authorial gaze. We are open to setting up a co-production that allows us to create an alliance and gives input to the project. We also aim to find distributors and sales agents to help us reach a broad audience and to get in contact with television networks and alternative forms of distribution such as video-on-demand.Synopsis Three astronauts suffer from a mysterious accident on their way back to the Earth. While fighting against extreme weather conditions in the middle of the desert where they had to land, they will become 
witnesses and accomplices to the origin of life on the planet. An adventure film that connects the riddles 
of the universe with the darkness of the cave.Director's Biography V&iacute;ctor Moreno studied film and philosophy and a master's in creative documentary at Pompeu Fabra 
University (Barcelona). He made The Hidden 
City, awarded best documentary film at the Feroz 
Awards 2020, and the full-length documentary 
Edificio Espa&ntilde;a/The Building, nominated for 
best documentary at the GOYA Awards. He has 
directed other mid-length and short films, such 
as The Stone (2013) and The Stranger (2009), 
which received international awards. His films&nbsp;have been shown at more than 100 international festivals including IDFA, San Sebasti&aacute;n, Karlovy 
Vary, Viennale, Tallin Black Nights, San Francisco, 
Bafici o Visions du reel, and exhibited at the 
Lincoln Center (New York), Centre Pompidou 
(Paris), Barbican Centre (London), and Reina 
Sofia Museum (Madrid), amongst others. He also 
works on video installations, presented in Cineteca 
Matadero (Madrid) and MIAC (Lanzarote), and 
teaches at several film schools. He has offered 
master classes about his films at universities 
such as La Sorbonne (Paris) and the University of 
Southern California (Los Angeles). From 2015 to 
2017, he was the artistic director of the Muestra de 
Cine of Lanzarote, Canary Islands.
