 We are looking for European co-producers (specifically from France, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia and Norway) for creative and financing collaborations. We are also open to collaborating with key crew members from Europe as well as are open to parts of post-productionbeing done in Europe. Key positions that we are looking to collaborate in include cinematographer, sound editor and final mixer.Synopsis
 Nam and Vi&ecirc;t love each other. Both are miners, working 1000 meters below ground, where danger awaits and darkness prevails. In the brief moments of respite, in the exhaustion of male bodies, they kiss. The town where they live makes a living out of coal. Nam&rsquo;s mother collects coal waste from the mines to make briquettes at her makeshift workshop. Coal earns them a living, while polluting the land and the sea. Black sea. Black coal. Burnt coal. Wet coal. Dusty coal. Coal.Nam, like other young people, has decided to leave the country soon. In his village, many families get out of poverty thanks to the money they receive from relatives working abroad, most of them illegal immigrants &mdash; underground money. Through a relative, Nam gets in touch with an agent who can smuggle people abroad in containers. But at that moment, Nam&rsquo;s father, a soldier who died in the war, comes back in his mother&rsquo;s dreams to tell her where he died.One morning, in a coastal cave, Nam bleeds while Vi&ecirc;t is entering him. Looking at the blood on his fingers, Nam tells Vi&ecirc;t: "I saw my father, a faceless man, when I was about to cum."Nam, his mother and Vi&ecirc;t go south to the old battlefield to find the remains of his father.Director's Biography
 Truong Minh Qu&yacute; was born 1990 in Buon Ma Thuot, a small city in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Qu&yacute; lives and works, here and there, in the vibrancy of memories and present moments, of his own narratives and images, lying between documentary and fiction, personal and impersonal, drawnon the landscape of his homeland, childhood memories, and the historical context of Vietnam. In his films, he has been experimenting with the combination of abstract concepts- images with realistic improvisations during shooting. He is the alumnus of the 2012 Asian Film Academy (Busan International Film Festival) and 2016 Berlinale Talents. His films have been selected for international film festivals and exhibitions such as Locarno International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, IFFR, Busan International Film Festival, Les Rencontres Internationales&nbsp;Paris/Berlin. He won the main Art Prize at the 20th VideoBrasil (Sao Paulo) in 2017.His second feature film,&nbsp;The Tree House, premiered at the 2019 Locarno Film Festival (Filmmakers of The Present Competition), where it was called as &ldquo;Three of the festival&rsquo;s best premieres&rdquo; by MUBI and &ldquo;a singular entrancing ode&nbsp;to memory and filmmaking&rdquo; by The Film Stage. The film continued to screen at the 2019 New York Film Festival (Projections), 2019 Viennale, 2019 Festival des 3 Continents (Competition), 2020 IFFR (Bright Future), 2020 CPH:Dox (Artist &amp; Auteur), 2020 G&ouml;teborg Film Festival, among others.

Before leaving Vietnam in a container alongside future migrants, Nam, a young miner, wants to find the remains of his father, a soldier killed during the war. But Nam’s lover, Viêt, wishes they could stay in the depths of the coal mine forever.
